Our eco-friendly family-run guesthouse is surrounded by green fields in the Suir River Valley with view to the Comeragh Mountains and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still only a 10-minute drive away from Waterford City Centre. The local village with pubs and shops is within walking distance from our house. The nearest pub is just 700 metres away and Kilkenny City is at a 30-minutes’ drive from the cottage. Tom’s Country Cottage is an ideal base to explore the South-East of Ireland and is the perfect place to relax during your travels in a friendly, comfortable environment. The manager Tom is a well-respected Irish Tour Guide with years of experience in looking after tourists visiting Ireland and is happy to give you tips for your travel journey. As a shared facility for our guests we provide a comfortable common room with sofas, TV a small library, a dining area, and kitchen facilities. Our kitchen area is available to you 24h/7 and allows you to prepare your own food. The big cottage garden is particularly popular during the summer and we invite you to have a look at our pets (cats, dogs, horse). If you like homegrown organic products (apples, vegetables, berries), talk to us about what’s on offer (seasonal).We invite you to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Our cottage is small and friendly, the ideal place for meeting other travellers for a friendly chat, to watch a movie or maybe to go to the local Pub? Our staff speak several languages (English, French, Spanish, German) and are always happy to help & give advice for your journey. If you are travelling with children, we recommend you to book one of our private family rooms.

Located in the green belt outside Waterford City Centre we have great views of the Comeragh Mountains and the starry skies. There are plenty of things to see and do nearby, ranging from sight-seeing and cultural activities in the urban centres of Waterford and Kilkenny, to outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, golfing, horse riding, surfing, kayaking, fishing, castle sight-seeing … Ask us if you have a particular interest and we will be more than happy to provide you with information.
